Marsden
Mixed collage: painted tissue, copper, parchment.
Marsden is a town on the North Sea, with towering rocks and varied landscape.

Procrastination and Panic
All those notes we write to ourselves. "To Do", Shopping lists, bills to pay, appointments to keep.

Rosebay Willowherb
Called Purple Loosestrife in Canada, it spreads with ease and can dominate the landscape. My mother would throw up her hands in frustration when I picked it from the fields and brought it home.
We grew geraniums and roses, lobelia and allysum, dahlias and asters, not great big purple weeds!

Blue Willow
The top layer of several layers of pieces that just didn't work. Hey, they can't all be wonderful!
There's a lot of paper under this, creating some faintly subtle texture behind the 'branches'

Balancing Act
The final piece from another wonderful workshop. This one by Louise Lachance Legault.
Creating loose backgrounds, drawing from life, altering size and perspective.
-
Jenny Wren
Listening to Paul McCartney's "Jenny Wren" It makes me cry every time, just gets to me somehow.
This is a quiet piece using just acrylic in blue and green. A lost girl is in there somewhere.

Reaching for the Sun
Lots of gritty texture underneath the canvas called for some plantlife to take over. Just weeds, doing what weeds do.

white door.jpg
Just an abstract piece, with paint and wire on paper that needed to identify with something more solid.
My favourite part is the red frame of course.

The Journey from Greece
What started out as an abstracted painting depicting the white sands and blue sky of Greece, became... well... something totally different. So much texture on here, I have to give it a shower every once in a while to keep it clean!

Signs of Life
From a workshop. Framed and under glass and sold.
Paper is so lovely to work on but as relatively unknown artists it's impossible to frame everything we do. I've had to move to canvasses to keep the cost down and make the work more affordable for art lover/customers

Soulford
36 x 24
An impression of Salford, near Manchester England. 6 miles from my semi-country home
